Bulldog netters split match against Ontario

Baker split a tennis match with Ontario Tuesday at the Ash Grove Complex.

Baker won the boys half of the match 4-1, but dropped the girls match 3-2.

Weather conditions, which included wind, rain, snow and hail, made playing conditions less than ideal.

“Just before we were going to start it started snowing and blowing,” said Baker coach George Keister.

“Ontario was just showing up, and they didn’t think we’d play, but we got it in.”

Dan Sizer and Jordan Curtis won the first two boys singles for the Bulldogs.

Sizer won the No. 1 singles in straight sets, and Curtis followed suit in the No. 2 singles match.

Baker then swept the boys doubles.

Baker won two singles matches on the girls side.

Helen Galiszewski needed three sets to win the No. 2 singles.

Kate Sizer also needed three sets to take the No. 3 singles.

Baker hosts Nyssa Friday at 3 p.m.
