Baker’s season-long consistency problems reared their ugly head again Thursday against Philomath.

The Bulldogs (2-7) shot just 25 percent from the field and 45 percent from the free throw line while dropping a 72-33 nonleague boys basketball game to the Warriors at the Sisters tournament.

“Philomath is a very good team,” said  Baker coach Joel Richardson.

“We can’t shoot 11 of 44 from the field and 10 of 22 from the line and win games.

“Our looks at the basket were good. We just continue not getting our shots to fall,” Richardson said.

“We just have to shoot and play with more confidence.”

Baker fell behind 23-8 after one quarter and trailed 45-19 at halftime.

Kyle Srack led Baker scoring with eight points.

Baker plays Sisters in consolation play today.

The tournament runs through Saturday.
