Bulldogs head to semifinals

SCAPPOOSE — Baker quarterback Braden Phillips scored two touchdowns and had almost 300 all-purpose yards Saturday to lead the Bulldogs to a 22-0 victory over Scappoose in the Clas 4A state football quarterfinals.

Phillips ran for 167 yards and two touchdowns, and was 7-of-14 passing for 130 yards.

Phillips' first touchdown gave Baker an 8-0 halftime lead. His second score increased Baker's lead to 14-0 after three quarters.

Trent Taylor,  who saw limited action after suffering an ankle injury against Cottage Grove, added Baker's third touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Baker will play Cascade High School of Turner in the semifinals. The game will be either Friday or Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. The site and exact time will be determined by the OSAA.
