Bulldogs sweep La Grande

Baker battled blustery conditions to sweep La Grande in a varsity tennis match Thursday at the Ash Grove Complex.

Baker won the boys match 3-2 and the girls 4-1.

“We got it in despite some poor conditions,” said Baker coach George Keister.

In the boys competition, Dan Sizer and Jordan Curtis won the top two singles matches in straight sets.

Nathan Eiselein and Trenton Howard needed three sets to win the No. 1 doubles.

Baker swept the girls singles with Courtney Petry, Helen Galiszewski and Kate Sizer winning in straight sets.

Anna Clarke and Miranda McBroom won the No. 2 doubles in three sets, winning a tie-breaker to take the third set.

Baker will be busy next week, with four matches. The Bulldogs travel to Weiser Monday, host Nyssa Tuesday, host Burns Thursday and travel to La Grande Saturday.
