Dawgs compete at Pendleton

PENDLETON — Baker’s middle school wrestlers competed at the Pendleton tournament last week.

All but one Baker wrestler won at least one match each.

“We wrestled really well,” said Baker coach Ray Uriarte.

“We are coming along and are wrestling with more confidence. It’s good to see that we are getting to use our moves on instinct and not methodical.”

Patrick Lee (100 pounds), finished 1-2; Fredie Pelcher (100) 0-3; Colten Smith (120) 1-1; Drew Hellegaard (135) 1-2; Matthew Barnes (140) 1-2; Joshua Christensen (160) 1-2; and Oakley Deel (220) 1-2.

Uriarte said Baker is headed into the final two weeks of the season. The Dawgs next action is Feb. 26 at Central in Milton-Freewater.
