Eight Bulldogs to state

Baker will send eight competitors to  the Class 4A state track and field meet Friday and Saturday at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene.

The Bulldogs will compete in 11 events after competing last Friday and Saturday at the Greater Oregon League district meet at Ontario.

Dane Bachman advanced to state in three events.

Bachman is the GOL district champion in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches, and in the triple jump with a jump of 41 feet, 4.5 inches.

Bachman also qualified for state as the GOL runnerup in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 1.25 inches.

Tyson Walton advances as the GOL champion in the shot with a toss of 47 feet, 9.5 inches.

Jorden Osborn qualified for state as the GOL champion in the discus with a throw of 154 feet, 9 inches.

Nathan Baeth and Mitko Smith are the other two Baker boys advancing to state. Baeth as the district runnerup in the 800 (2:04.65), and Smith as the runnerup in the 400 (51.78).

A trio of Baker girls also advance to state.

Monica Voboril is the GOL champion in the javelin with a throw of 118 feet, 11 inches.

Alli Ferdig is the runnerup in the shot with a toss of 34 feet, 11 inches.

Liz Wulk is the runnerup in the long jump (15 feet, 3.5 inches) and the triple jump (33 feet, 5 inches).

Spectator admission is $10 adults and $5 students.
