ELGIN — Baker opened its cross country season on a high note Friday at the Mile High Trail Run at Tollgate. The Bulldogs boys won the four-team race and the girls finished second by a single point. Baker’s Trevor Freese set a new course record, winning the boys race in a time of 19:42. The Bulldogs’ Erik Robertson, Skyler Young and Jacob Payton finished third through fifth, respectively. Felicia Schneider was the top Baker girls’ finisher, taking third in a time of 25:24. That was one second faster than teammate Melissa Clarke. Baker competes in the Catherine Creek Scamper Friday at Union.
