Little League loses, but still in running for district title


ENTERPRISE — Baker's Little League Majors all-star baseball team lost 8-6 to La Grande this morning, but Baker still has a chance to win the District 3 title.

Even before today's loss Baker had qualified for the semifinals by winning its first three games.

Baker, which finished second in its pool, will play Pendleton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The winner advances to the championship game Friday at 2 p.m. The loser is eliminated.

In today's game Thomas Hamilton had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

Micah Mespelt had two hits, including a double, and one RBI, and Kyle Srack had an RBI double.

Chase Dixon and Tanner Ulrey each hit a double, Clay LeaMaster two singles, and Steven Schott and Taylor Gulick a single apiece.
