Baker boys fall to Hermiston


HERMISTON — Baker boys basketball coach Craig Woods doesn’t like to lose. But, Monday at Hermiston, he put the Bulldogs’ 65-51 loss to Class 5A Hermiston to good use.

“It was a win even though we lost,” Woods said. “We can see where we need to work on things before Friday."

Powder boys advance to second round

NORTH POWDER — Powder Valley took a big lead but then almost let Sherman take the game away Tuesday in the first round of the Class 1A state boys basketball playoffs.

Powder Valley built its lead to as many as 24 points, but let Sherman battle back to within one point before pulling out a 76-67 victory.
