BHS GIRLS SOCCER: Bulldogs tie Payette

Brie Sand’s goal late in the second half lifted Baker to a 3-3 tie against Payette Tuesday in a nonleague girls soccer match in a driving rain at the Baker Sports Complex.

The Bulldogs trailed 3-2 earlier in the half after playing to a 2-2 deadlock at halftime.

Payette opened the scoring about a minute into the game.

Baker then answered with a pair of goals from Erin Parker before Payette evened the score just before halftime.

Neither team scored in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

Baker hosts Pendleton in a nonleague match Thursday at the Sports Complex.

Baker picked up its first boys soccer victory of the season Tuesday, stopping Payette 6-1 in a nonleague match at the Baker Sports Complex.

Jordan Flanagan led the Bulldogs with a pair of goals.

Jason Benites, Riley Carter, Matthew Barnes and Stephen Schott each added single goals.

Schott also had three assists.

Baker travels to Pendleton for a match Thursday.

Baker opened Greater Oregon League volleyball play Tuesday with a 14-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 win against Ontario in the Baker gym.

“Our motto is to be better every day,” said Baker coach Michele McCauley.

“We were a slow starter tonight. Then we finally figured some things out. You can really see the difference when we play aggressively."

WEISER — What a difference a week makes.

Two weeks ago Baker traveled to Redmond and dropped a 30-0 nonleague football game to Ridgeview.

Friday, the Bulldogs evened their season record at 1-1 with a 32-22 victory over Weiser at Weiser.
