Pilot Rock ends Baker minors play

Pilot Rock ended Baker’s stay at the District 3 Minors softball tournament Monday with an 11-1 win in a semifinal game at the Baker Sports Complex. Three Pilot Rock pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter at Baker. Baker had just three runners reach base — two on walks and another on an error. Baker’s lone run came in the top of the fifth inning when Kaylan Mosser walked, stole third and scored on a passed ball. Pilot Rock scored three runs in the first inning. Tehya Ostrom and Rachel Willingham each had RBI singles. Pilot Rock added four runs in the second inning. Ostrom and Makayla Deist had run-scoring singles. Pilot Rock then ended the game by mercy rule with four runs in the fifth. Willingham and Sara Weinke had bases-loaded walks to drive in two runs. Ostrom finished the game with three hits and two RBIs.Gussie Cook was the losing pitcher for Baker.
