Pine-Eagle's title bid ends

Condon/Wheeler ended the Pine-Eagle girls' bid for a state championship by downing the Spartans 71-56 in a quarterfinal game in the Class 1A tournament this afternoon at Baker High School.

The loss drops Pine-Eagle, ranked 8th in the final Class 1A poll, into a consolation semifinal game Thursday at 9 a.m. against Elkton. 

Fourth-ranked Condon/Wheeler, which improved to 27-1, advances to a championship semifinal Friday at 1:30 p.m. against top-ranked McKenzie.
