Pine-Eagle spikes two foes

HALFWAY — Pine-Eagle swept a pair of volleyball matches Friday and Saturday on the Spartans’ home floor.

Pine-Eagle defeated Prairie City 25-13, 25-8, 25-14 in a non-league match Friday. The Spartans then opened Old Oregon League play Saturday by topping Joseph 25-7, 25-22, 25-20.

Against Prairie City, Ce’Aira Marks served 100 percent with five ace serves, five kills and no hitting errors.

McKenzie Bell added five kills. Randee Koski had 11 assists, seven digs and 100 percent serving.

The Spartans had just four hitting errors in the match.

Pine-Eagle also won the JV match 25-18, 25-20. Randi Coon served 100 percent with five ace serves. Kolbie Kellar served 100 percent with three kills.

Against Joseph, Koski and Chelsie Gulick each served 100 percent.

Koski added 29 assists and a kill. Kaylee Holmstead and Alicia Marlow each had 10 kills. Marlow also had three solo blocks and a block assist.

Bell added four kills, 100 percent serving and nine digs.
