Portland Lutheran, Columbia Christian advance to Saturday consolation final

Portland Lutheran and Columbia Christian advanced to the boys consolation final Thursday.

Portland Lutheran defeated South Wasco County 55-50 and Columbia Christian topped St. Paul 60-21 in consolation semifinals at Baker High School.

Portland Lutheran rallies late

The Blue Jays outscored South Wasco County 22-11 in the fourth quarter to advance.

Abel Araya led Portland Lutheran with 20 points and four steals. Elliot Taylor added 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kyle Jampsa chipped in 11 points.

Casey Johnson led South Wasco County with 14 points and three assists. Stephen Larlee added 12 points and nine rebounds, Josh Duling 10 points and three assists, and Zac Hayes 10 points.

Columbia Christian rolls

Columbia Christian held St. Paul to single digits in each quarter to advance.

St. Paul hurt its cause by shooting 21 percent from the field (8-of-39), including just 7 percent in the first half (1-of-14).

Braden Mueller led Columbia Christian with 26 points.

Greg Rosa topped St. Paul with 10 points.
