NORTH POWDER — Powder Valley girls basketball coach Allen Bingham says the Badgers must adjust to their personnel to be successful this season, much the same as they did entering Old Oregon League play a year ago.
Powder has lost its two starting post players — Jessica Pedro and Ali Abrego — to graduation.
The Badgers actually lost Pedro to a knee injury at the beginning of league play in January a year ago.
“We’ll run some different things,” Bingham said.
“We’ll have to be more structured, more discplined.
“We actually made that transition last year when Pedro went down in January right before league,” Bingham said.
The Badgers’ coach is bolstered by the return of starters Alexandra Colton, Bailee Allen, McKinsey Hampton and Lindsey Loennig.
And, Sally Blair, a 6-foot transfer from Wallowa, also will help.
“Sally Blair. She’s improved a lot since our summer ball,” Bingham said. “She’s a big presence.”
Other returning players who saw varsity action a year ago are Amanda Feik, Maria Bedolla and Annalia Jimenez,
