Powder Valley track preview

NORTH POWDER — Powder Valley’s small track and field team will be led by a returning Class 1A state champion this season.

Junior Trenton Dixon returns to defend his state crown in the high jump. He also qualifed for state in the long jump. He will compete in those two events, the triple jump and 400.

Juniors Jon Galvez and Dakota Townsend will throw shot, discus, and javelin.

Freshman Colton Eubanks will run the 100, 200 and the 400.

Junior Kate Jones returns as the district 100 hurdles champion and state qualifier in the 300 hurdles. She will compete in both events and the triple jump this season.

Junior Kelsey White will throw the discus and javelin.

Freshmen Ali Abrego will high jump, long jump and throw javelin, and Jessica Pedro will run the 1,500 and high jump.

 The Badgers are coached by Blake Jones.
