Baker's Brett Smith used his inside muscle to score 29 points against a physical Riverside team Saturday, leading the Bulldogs to a 60-44 Greater Oregon League win in the boys basketball game at BHS.

Smith scored 16 points in the first half, and 13 in the second half as Baker improved its GOL record to 2-0.

"We played well enough to win," said Baker coach Craig Woods. "I think I didn't prepare our kids hard enough for this game. We were probably looking at Ontario."

Baker travels to Ontario Friday.

"We're a better team when we're looking to attack," Woods said. "Riverside had a good game plan for us."

Besides Smith the only Bulldog in double figures was Matt Bunch with 17.

"We didn't spread our scoring around like we have been," Woods said. "It wasn't pretty, but it was a win."
