Volleyball team drops opener

Baker High School’s volleyball team lost its opener at Fruitland, Idaho, Tuesday, 17-25, 13-25, 24-26.

“We struggled with ball control,” said Baker coach Marcy Hayes. “We did other things well, including blocking, and we were hustling and being scrappy. But when you don’t have ball control, it’s hard to run an effective offense.”

Andrea Wilson was 15-15 serving. Cassidie Horn was 8-11 hitting with 4 kills and 2 solo blocks. Aly Ogan was 8-10 hitting and knocked down 4 kills.

The Bulldogs host Weiser, Idaho, Thursday. The frosh/soph game is at 4 p.m., with junior varsity and varsity matches to follow.
