Former Baker County residents Howard and Peggy Graves, who now live in Central Point, celebrated 60 years of marriage Wednesday with a reception at their home.
Peggy Poston and Howard H. Graves were married on July 18, 1947, at Baker City. They both attended school at Sumpter.
While living in Sumpter, Howard worked for the Sumpter Valley Dredge and the railroad. Later, they moved to Baker City, where they both worked for Crown Cleaners. Howard also worked for Alexander's Clothing.
The couple later moved with their two children to Brookings, where Howard worked for the school district before retiring. They next moved to Central Point, where their two children, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren live.
The Graves' family includes the couple's son, Howard G. Graves, and his wife, Patty; and their daughter, Gayle Williams. Their grandchildren are Sammy and Missy and they have four great-grandchildren.
