Seven high school students volunteered their Saturday - along with art instructor Kristen Bell - to create at least 100 clay pots that will be sold during May's First Friday art walk.

The wheel-throwing event was from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the high school's art room.

The pots are all shapes and sizes - tall, and pitchers, mugs and more.

Saturday's event was open to the public - Bell started this tradition last year to give the community a chance to see the art created by local students.

During the next few weeks the pots will be trimmed, fired and glazed.

The final products will be unveiled - and for sale - May 3 at Zephyr Bakery, 1917 Main St., during the First Friday art walk from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The proceeds will support the high school's art program.
