email@example.com Superintendent Walt Wegener is putting a tentative "smiley face" on enrollment figures after completion of last week's school registration sessions.
Numbers at Baker High School are down slightly - as is typical for this time of year, Wegener said - with total enrollment expected at between 480 and 500 by Sept. 8.
The new Baker Technical Institute "is absolutely stuffed," Wegener said. BTI, which will be led by Jerry Peacock, former longtime Baker High School principal, will provide career and technical training for students enrolled in those programs.
Eagle Cap, the district's innovate high school, which also will be led by Peacock and is housed at the North Baker Education Center, shows increased enrollment as well, Wegener said.
