Hearts go out to the Ellis family

To the editor:

Our hearts go out to the Ellis family for the loss of their daughter Jessica in Iraq. We know the pain they are feeling firsthand.

Our family also lost a soldier in Baghdad by IED, on April 22, 2006. His name was Sgt. Kyle A. Colnot. His brothers Kristian, nephew Gabriel and Kurtis Colnot, wife Danielle and nephews River and Red live here. Kyle spent some time with his family in Baker and loved it here. He looked so much like his brothers that he could have been one of my kids. With blended families these days, well, they ARE family and you love them all. He was from San Dimas, Calif.

Kyle's siblings and Dad started a foundation to help family members with funding to get to funeral services of fallen soldiers. It's ourfallensoldier.com . Please visit the Web site for information.

Lest we forget, Kyle and Jessica died to protect our freedom. God bless them.
