Baker's a great place to live

To the editor:

In August, I fell and broke my hip in my home. I was there for a long time before I was found by a neighbor and taken to the hospital by ambulance. I am so happy that I live in a town where the neighbors take care of one another and I would just like to thank all my friends and neighbors that have been so helpful to me all the time I have been disabled.

What a great place to live!

We rely on KTVB for Idaho news

To the editor:

I wonder if Charter cable TV has any idea how many customers they might

lose if they take Channel 7, KTVB, off the air in Baker? There are so

many Baker residents that have to go to Fruitland or Boise for medical

reasons, and we like to know what the weather is like in that area. We

can't get that from Portland!

I have talked to a lot of people and have been told that they will

probably change to another service if Charter takes KTVB away. Please

consider all the retired people who have family living in Idaho or who

have to travel there often for medical reasons, and keep Channel 7 on

the air for us.

Ambassadors had a good time

To the editor:

On Nov. 16 the Baker County CASA, Inc. hosted the Harlem Ambassadors

professional show basketball team for a night of high-flying slam

dunks, hilarious comedy, and feel-good family entertainment.

The Harlem Ambassadors would like to extend a special thank you to

event organizers Mary Collard and Michelle Paoletti who planned and

promoted the game. The CASA All Stars proved to be an energetic and

enthusiastic challenging team and we thank all of the players for their

good sportsmanship. The event would not have been possible without the

support and generosity of local community sponsors, the Baker County

CASA, Inc. members, and the event volunteers.

The Harlem Ambassadors thank the community of Baker City for its warm

hospitality and look forward to returning to Baker City in the

future!
