BLANCHET vs. IONE: Cavaliers advance to consolation finals

Blanchet used a 19-8 second-quarter advantage to roll past Ione in the consolation semifinals of the OSAA-U.S. Bank Class 1A state boys basketball tournament Thursday.

The Cavaliers turned a 19-18 first-quarter edge into a 38-26 halftime advantage on the way to a 72-58 victory at Baker High School.

Blanchet advances to the consolation title game Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Anthony Godlove led four Cavaliers in double figures with 24 points. Owen Wiseman added 12 points and 10 rebounds, Nils Isensee 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jon Wisniewski 10 points.

Brad Burright topped Ione with 28 points and 12 rebounds, 10 on the offensive boards. Aaron Brown added 13 points and six rebounds.
