Baker Little Leaguers lose after storm delay

A thunderstorm delay of nearly three hours Monday evening didn't help Baker's 9-10-year-old boys baseball all-star team.

The first pitch in Baker's district tournament game against Pendleton wasn't thrown until just before 9 p.m.

Baker loaded the bases in the first inning, but none of the runners scored.

Pendleton, meanwhile, scored five times in its half of the first, and never trailed in a 14-2 win that eliminated Baker from the tournament.

andquot; If we could have scored those runs in the first inning I think it would have been a whole different outcome, andquot; Baker Coach Jake Pearce said.

Bradley Golar, Dustin Hellsbusch and Mason Dowdy each had a hit for Baker.
