Record crowds swarmed to the Thunder Mountain Motorsports demolition derby on Saturday, bringing the fair to a close with mud-spewing tires, engines on fire and car-body crunching.

In the first heat, the two Grant County entries, No. 21A driven by Chris Keithand No. 3 Dave Packard help put cars No. 6 and No. 55, far right photo, out of commssion. The great battle came in the last heat when cars No. 77 and No. Z28 went bumper to bumper to win the first place purse of $2,000, but they had to be untangled to complete the event. Crawford Cook ultimately took the purse in his No. 77 car.
