Baker wrestlers to state

ONTARIO - A trio of Baker wrestlers will advance to this week's Class 4A state tournament after qualifying at the Special District 2 meet Saturday at Ontario.

Anthony Constantine advances as the district champion at 145 pounds, winning three matches at district.

"All his hard work this season has paid off," said Baker coach Brandon Young. "Hopefully the other kids will see what it takes to become one of the best wrestlers in the state."

Constantine has a record of 32-6 and is on a 15-match win streak.

Andrew Porter advances as the 125-pound third-place winner at district, going 3-1. Porter currently is tied for the most wins of any wrestler at BHS. One win at state will break that tie.

Josh Valentine advances as the fourth-place winner at 112 pounds, going 2-2.

The two-day state tournament begins Friday at Memorial Coliseum. Spectator admission is $15 adults and $10 students Friday. Each session Saturday is $10 adults and $8 students. A special two-day pass is available for $35 adults and $25 students.
