Powder Valley picked up its first win of the season Saturday, and in the process placed third at the Crane boys basketball tournament.

The Badgers (1-5) defeated McDermitt, Nev., 72-56 to take third place. Powder Valley lost 57-50 to Dayville-Monument Friday.

Against McDermitt, the Badgers had four players in double figures led by Peter Colton's 29.

"We finally got a win," said Powder coach Kyle Dixon.

"We finally broke out of a little shooting slump we've been in."

Marcus Pratt added 12 points, Tyler Clark 11, and Noe Benites 10.

Colton also led Powder Valley against Dayville-Monument with 20 points. Benites chipped in 10.

The Badgers will play Wednesday through Friday this week at a tournament at La Grande.
