Baker tennis tops Weiser

Baker swept Weiser 8-3 in a nonleague tennis match Thursday at Weiser.

"We were real fortunate to get to play the way the weather has been," said Baker coach George Keister.

"The weather was pretty nice over there today. It was about 60 degrees when we got there and the wind didn't blow that much."

Baker swept the boys matches.

Lukas Huggins, Ivan Hansen and JJ Vela won the boys singles.

Huggins teamed with Jordan Curtis to win the No. 1 boys doubles. Brandon Zunino and Chance Parry won the No. 2 doubles.

Jessica McKim and Makayla Williams won the girls singles matches.

Emily Miller teamed with Williams to won the No. 2 girls doubles.

Baker is now idle until April 6 when the Bulldogs travel to Ontario for their first league match.

Thomas/Morales (W) def. Burk/Dobbel 7-6, 5-7, 7-1 (tie-breaker)
