Baker boys soccer coach Victor Benites is hoping for continued improvement from his charges.

Eight varsity players return from a team that won two games last season. Benites is hoping that another year's experience will translate into more victories this year.

"We're looking pretty similar to last year, and we're not real deep," Benites said. "Our main goal is to win more games than last year."

"The returning varsity players we have have another year's experience," said Baker volunteer assistant coach Gary Carter.

"They've all played some summer ball and that has helped."

"What we have returning is strong," Benites said. "We lost some solid defenders, but we have a couple of defenders returning that are good. We have some other kids that could fill out nicely in the end."

The returning players are Jason Benites, Noe Benites, Riley Carter, Isaac Mansuetti, Isaac Alanko, Ivan Hansen, Stephen Schott and Fernando Jimenez.
