BHS BASEBALL: Hermiston blows past Bulldogs

By Jayson Jacoby, The Baker City Herald

HERMISTON - Hermiston defeated Baker 17-4 in a wind-blown nonleague baseball game at Hermiston Wednesday.

"We played in a wind storm; winds of 55 to 60 miles per hour at times," said Baker coach Dan Blankenship.

"It was one of the more miserable games in my 30 years of coaching."

Hermiston hammered a trio of Baker pitchers in the five-inning game.

"We were trying to save our pitchers for Saturday's GOL games with Mac-Hi," Blankenship said.

"They're a good ball club, and the wind aided them a lot. We didn't seem to get those benefits."

Darren Dolby and Mason Cline each had two hits for Baker. Dan Stinson had a hit and two RBIs.

Baker hosts Mac-Hi in a doubleheader Saturday at noon at the Baker Sports Complex.
