Thoughts shape what we become

To the editor:

I want to express my gratitude and thank you for all the support and encouragement I have received since going through the challenge that cancer has created in my life and family.

What I have learned throughout this experience is that an individual can change the state and atmosphere by changing our thoughts, basing those thoughts on the great unchanging promise of God. A person cannot sow seed thoughts of sickness and live in the atmosphere of health. We cannot sow seed thoughts of defeat and fear and live in the atmosphere of victory and peace. We cannot sow thoughts of poverty and live in the atmosphere of prosperity.

Let us begin today to fill our minds, hearts, home and surroundings with the marvelous, loving seed thoughts of Jesus about health, victory, peace, prosperity and all the other things we desire in this life. Base these thoughts on definite promises of God. Think them, talk them and act on them. This is what Jesus meant when he stated, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

Now we know the truth. The rest is up to us.

As this special time of year comes our way be thankful for all the blessings that are in our lives.
