To the editor:

It was a great honor for me to meet President Bill Clinton on Sunday, and listen to his stirring talk of optimism for the future of the middle class in America.

I saw lots of people who seemed to agree with his message. I don't know all of your names but I want to invite all of you to get involved in the local Democratic Party. If you don't like what our government has been doing for the last seven years, come work with us to get the country back on the right track.

We are stronger when we work together.Baker County Democrats meet on the third Thursday of each month at the Rogers Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Fourth and Washington at 7 p.m. Meetings are scheduled today, May 15, and on June 19.

I encourage everyone to vote in the upcoming primary and general elections. It is one of the best ways the common people can tell their government what to do. You CAN make a difference.
