To the editor:

Baker County weed control plays a critical role in the conservation of our resources. Weeds pose a huge risk to many native plant communities in the county. Arnie Grammon, Baker County weed control specialist, has done an outstanding job in formulating prescriptions for mechanical, chemical and biological controls for weeds. I have worked closely with the local weed control office on many projects and have a great deal of respect for this program.

The weed management office is a good source for residential landowners if you need management options on home landscapes, gardens, and turf management. For rural landowners they provide assistance on pasture, forestry and rangeland weed control.

Baker County has become a leader in the battle against weeds. I urge you to continue your support of the local weed control office by voting yes on the county weed control levy.
