‘Ted’ Frericks
BLAINE, Wash. — Ted Frericks, 83, a former Baker City resident, died July 27, 2011, at Bellingham, Wash.
A private memorial service will be scheduled later. Mr. Frericks was born on a ranch near David City, Neb., to John and Anna Frericks. As a small child he moved with his family to Baker City.
He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his children, Mike and Colleen Frericks, Scott and Kristi Frericks, Sheila and Tim Tennert and John Frericks, all of Washington, and Matt Frericks of Wyoming; his sisters, Connie Fisher of Echo, Louise Todd and Ramona Idler of Baker City; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara; a sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Leo and Joe; two sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.

William Marshall
William Z. Marshall, 81, died at his home in Hermiston, Oregon on Aug. 3, 2011.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery.
William was born on Nov. 5, 1929, at Baker City to Jack Clay and Edith E. Layon Marshall. He worked in the security field until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, rock hounding, and cutting and polishing rocks.
“He will be missed. God rest his soul,” family members said.
Survivors include his sister, Doris Shanks; nephew, Ray Shanks; daughter, Christine Hammond; sons, Patrick Marshall and Jack Marshall; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
