A solid Crook County squad put Baker away early Friday in a Class 4A girls basketball play-in game at Prineville.

Crook County bolted from the gate on the way to a 74-35 victory, ending Baker's season.

"They were a lot better team than what we'd seen on film," said Baker coach Tim Smith.

"They came out and ran a different defense than what we'd seen, and we didn't adjust quickly enough.

"They put a lot of on-ball pressure on us and we didn't handle it well in the first half," Smith said.

"We just got outplayed in the first half. The girls were a little bit intimidated."

Crook County led 41-15 at halftime.

Michelle Freese led Baker with eight points. Marley Robb added seven.
