Baker opened its golf season Friday by placing second at the Payette Invitational boys tournament.

The Bulldogs shot a total score of 338 to trail only Weiser (332) for the team title.

“In my yenure as Baker coach that is the best 18-hole score on a Par 72 course we have ever shot,” said Baker coach Mike Long.

“I was extremely pleased with the way we played today.”

Jayden Uttenreuther led the Bulldogs with a score of 81, good enough for a three-way tie for fourth in the medalist chase.

Brandon Elwanger shot an 82, Charlie Clark 86, Micah Grammon 89, and Jake Brown 110.

“We had a goal last season of trying to break 340, and never quite made it,” Long said. “We shot very well today.”

Baker is now idle until April 6.
