Denise Palmer

Denise Myra Palmer, 55, of Baker City, died April 4, 2012, at her  home.

Her funeral will be at noon Monday at Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Pastor Jonathan Privett of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.  There will be a reception afterward at David Palmer’s home.

Denise was born on Oct. 18, 1956, at  Oakland, Calif., to John E. and Dorothy Hubartt Cozad.  She attended Freemont High School at Oakland, Calif., graduating in 1974.  She worked as an archaeological technician for the U.S. Forest Service.

She married David Palmer on April 3, 1992, at John Day. She was good at making a house a home and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Denise was a great fisherman. She also enjoyed hiking, writing, and drawing and sketching trains.

Survivors include her husband, David Palmer of Baker City; and her sister, Anastasia Sandow of Eugene.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Cozad.
