Mason Cline, Kody Younger, Caleb Custer and Dillon Blankenship threw for the Bulldogs. Cline got the win and Blankenship a save. “It was a pretty well played game,” said Baker coach Dan Blankenship. “We executed pretty well. And, the game ended with a pitcher’s best friend (double play).” Trailing 2-0, Baker scored three runs in the third inning. Darren Dolby got things started with a bunt single. Cline reached base on an error and Sam Averett singled. Dolby scored when Blankenship hit into a fielder’s choice. Braden Phillips added an RBI single and Younger a sacrifice fly. Baker added what proved to be the winning run in the top of the sixth. Dolby and Averett were hit by pitches sandwiched around a walk to Cline, loading the bases. Blankenship then drew another walk to drive home Dolby. Baker (8-7 overall) returns to Greater Oregon League action Saturday with a doubleheader at Ontario. Game 1 starts at 1 p.m. MDT.
