The Baker City Farmers Market will open in a new location not far from the old one Wednesday afternoon.

This summer, Grove Street between Campbell and Madison streets will be closed during the market. Vendors will set up their tables and sell their products at Grove and Madison, said Sandy Ford, market manager.

Farmers Market hours are from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday from June 5 through Oct. 23.

About 10 vendors are expected for the first market, Ford said. They will be selling products ranging from honey to berries and rhubarb and from specialty vinegars and other condiments to Kettle Korn. Grass-fed beef, pork and lamb also will be available.

Music will be provided by the “Huckleberry Jam” band.

“We’re always looking for new vendors,” Ford said, and that includes those offering handcrafted goods and plants in addition to produce.

“We’re also looking for volunteers to help farmers set up,” she said. “It’s a lot of work and an extra hand is so appreciated.”
