Damascus Christian dominates

Second-ranked Damascus Christian led from start to finish Wednesday on the way to a 50-18 quarterfinal victory over Country Christian in the Class 1A state girls basketball tournament at Baker High School.

Damascus Christian plays Triangle Lake in the semifinals today at 6:30 p.m.

Damascus Christian jumped to a 19-3 lead after one quarter.

Hannah Forrar led the way with 10 points. She finished the game with 19 points and a dozen rebounds.

Damascus Christian led 32-12 at halftime, forcing 27 Country Christian turnovers.

Country Christian managed just six points in the second half, going scorless in the final quarter until a basket at the final buzzer. Country Christian’s last basket prior to that came with 1:31 left in the third period.
