Joanna Katherine Mollert, 82, of Baker City, died Nov. 2, 2017.
Joanna was born on July 14, 1935, at Knoxville, Tennessee, to Theodore John Hinds and Orlena Leona Staples Hinds. She married John Karl Mollert on Dec. 19, 1958. Joanna’s main occupation was being a housewife.
Joanna is survived by her daughter, Sheri Emmons of Canon City, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mollert; and her parents, Theodore and Orlena Hinds.

Paul Scott Rogers, 58, died August 11, 2017.
His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Baker City Christian Church, 675 Highway 7. Pastor Jesse Whitford will officiate.
Paul was born on July 15, 1959. He was an adorable boy who loved his sweets. Even though he is gone, he remains in the minds and hearts of his family and friends who loved and cared about him tremendously, family members said.

Former Baker City resident, 1935-2017
Mary Catherine Schaan, 82, of Snohomish, Washington, a former Baker City resident, died peacefully on Oct. 20, 2017, at her home with family and friends at her side after a long struggle with illness.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral at First and Church streets in Baker City. There will be a reception afterward.
Mary was born on March 3, 1935, at Baker City to Michael and Fern Galligan.
Mary loved life and all that it had to offer: travel, gardening, cooking and entertaining. She was a Mom to anyone she met and always saw the good in everyone. Mary will truly be missed by everyone who knew her, family members said.
Survivors include her daughters, Catherine and Theresa, and her sons, Robert and Patrick, and their families; she was loved dearly by her sisters, Janet and Joan, and their husbands; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
