Baker City, 1946-2018
Mark Edward Freeman, 72, a longtime resident of Union and Baker counties, died Jan. 30, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place St. in Baker City.
Please come share your favorite stories of Mark. We’ll celebrate life to the fullest, as Mark always did.
Mark was born on Jan. 18, 1946. A lifelong outdoorsman who shared his love of nature with all those around him, Mark is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Sharon Freeman of Baker City; his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Shelly Freeman, of Seattle; daughter and son-in-law, Mariah and Patrick Courtright, of Eagle, Idaho; granddaughter, Calla Freeman; grandson, Alex Freeman; and grand-puppies, Arrow and Skittles.
Always possessed of a quick wit and dry humor, Mark believed in living life to its fullest and helping his fellow man and would, therefore, in lieu of flowers, request a donation in his honor to one of the following charities: Crossroads, Eastern Oregon Regional Theater, The YMCA or The Bobcat Foundation through Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814. To light a candle in memory of Mark or to offer condolences to his family, go to www.grayswestco.com
