William Crofford “Bill” Swan, 85, of Richland, died April 26, 2018, with his family at his side.
He was born on July 7, 1932, at Cle Elum, Washington. He was raised there and then in Troy, Idaho, where he graduated in 1951.
Bill met his wife at a dance in Pasco, Washington. They were married in 1958 and had three children. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1952 and later the Army National Guard. During his life he worked for 25 years as a logger in the Lewiston, Idaho, area. He later drove truck locally for Baker Trucking and long haul for Interstate Trucking. His favorite phrase was “What’s for supper?”
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James; his sister, Margaret; and his granddaughter, Madison Lynn Taylor.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Billie; his children, Susan and Mitchell Taylor, Dan and Shanna Swan, and Craig and Katia Swan; his grandchildren, Karson and Maison Taylor, Ryan and Tyler Swan, Christopher and Faith Swan, and William and Tania; his brother, David, and his wife, Darlene Swan; and several nieces and nephews.
