Ontario rallied in the fourth quarter Thursday to end Baker's boys basketball season.

The Tigers outscored Baker 20-9 in the final period on the way to a 70-64 win in the Greater Oregon League district playoff game at Ontario.

"We had a little moment in the fourth quarter where we panicked," said Baker coach Joel Richardson.

"Just several little detials we didn't do down th estretch."

Baker led 59-53 with seven minutes left in the game only to have Ontari run off 13 straight points for a 66-59 lead with 1:15 left.

Baker (7-18 overall) could get no closer than three points the rest of the way.

Richardson noted that Ontario's Jason Hauter, who finished with 20 points, fouled out with about six minutes left.

But, Tim LeBoutillier answered with nine of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.

"I thought we did a good job on the Huater kid, getting him to foul out," Richardson said.

"But LeBoutillier stepped it up and we didn't do as good of a job against him."

Baker rode six points from Logan Sand and five from Mason Cline to a 20-17 first-quarter lead.

Clay LeaMaster then came off the bench to add six second-period points to send Baker into a 38-32 halftime advantage.

Eight points from Cline offset seven from Haueter and six from LeBoutillier to keep Baker on top 55-50 at the end of the third quarter.

But with Baker leading 59-53, Mike Hussey and LeBoutillier each tallied five points down the stretch to give Ontario the lead for good.

Cline finished with 10 rebounds, and Kyle Srack nine.

Despite the loss, Richardson saw some good things.

"For the most part I thought the kids played great," he said.

"We had a lot of growth this year and we'll be a team to be reckoned with next year.

"I told the kids in the locker room that it is never as great as you think it is, and never as bad as you think it is. If they can use that in athletics, and in their lives they should be successful," Richardson said.
