The Baker School District has called another snow day for students and staff after about 9 inches of snow fell throughout the day and overnight.

This is the second snow day this year in a district that is traditionally stingy about closing school due to inclement weather.

But the persistent flakes that dropped Tuesday, added to the snow already packed on city streets and county roads, was enough to lead school administrators to decide about 4:30 this morning to cancel classes today.

Notifications to staff, parents, students and the media were slightly delayed because of a glitch in the BlackBoard Connect mass notification system.
