As of 2:30 p.m. the temperature had reached 108 degrees at the Baker City Airport. That breaks the all-time record set on Aug. 4, 1961.

With five triple-digit days so far, this summer ranks second in that category behind 1961, when the temperature reached at least 100 on eight days — two in June, one in July and five in August, the the all-time monthly record.
