Thirteen motorcycles took to the flat track at the Baker County Fairgrounds Friday night for the second-annual race as part of the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally.

Fans filled the stands and lined the fences to watch riders, on machines ranging from Harleys to vintage dirt bikes to a scooter, take spill after spill as their two-wheelers lost traction on the dirt around the tight turns.

Organizer Steve Folkestad called the event “organized chaos.”

Kiley Yee, competitor and race organizer with High Desert Harley-Davidson, said, “We’re just out here to have a good time. We’re here to promote motorcycling and flat tracking.”

The Baker Elks Lodge Drum and Bugle Corps opened the race to cheers before turning over the arena to the motorcycles.

The winner of the Run What you Brung class won a $500 gift card.

Although Folkestad said nothing changed about this second iteration of the race, Yee and other racers had fun racing their motorcycles under a vivid sunset.
