Friday at 2:30 p.m. the temperature reached 108 degrees at the Baker City Airport, tying the record set Thursday.
Thursday’s high temperature first reached 108 around 2 p.m. and hovered around that for the next three hours.
Prior to Thursday and Friday, the temperature in Baker City had never exceeded 106, a record set over 57 years ago, in August of 1961.
The previous high for Aug. 10 was 104 in 1996.
Just by going over 100 Friday the city had its first three-day stretch of 100-degree days since 1961.
