Baker County teens no longer will have the option of taking their first-time traffic offenses before a court of their peers.

The Baker City Justice Court Teen Court jury option has been discontinued by Justice of the Peace Larry Cole.

Cole said the program was dropped because of a lack of participation by the teens.

“It’s the young people’s program,” he said. “We can’t do it for them.”
